The Syngenta fungicide Revus has important approvals for the control of downy mildews on protected herbs as well as a new Extension of Authorisation (EoA) for use on protected ornamentals. The mandipropamid based fungicide developed for the control of potato blight will help to control downy mildews. The new EoA 20120487, allows one application of Revus per ornamental crop at 0.6l per hectare in a minimum of 200lt of water with an on label approval for lettuce and herb crops (please consult the full product label for all approved herb crops).
As a single mode of action fungicide it is recommended that Revus is tank mixed with another compatible fungicide with differing active and mode of action to fully comply with Fungicide Resistance Action Committee (FRAC) requirements. With a relatively short 7 day harvest interval on edible herbs and in light of the approval for the fungicide Proplant being revoked for protected ornamentals, Revus could become an important fungicide for both these horticultural crops.
