DEJEX SUPPLIES SUPPORTS GENGHIS KHAN’T IN THE MONGOL RALLY 2008

The Mongol Rally 2008 is a charity event that last year raised well over £200,000 for good causes. This year the Lincolnshire based team Genghis Khan’t hope to raise £2000 for Hope and Homes for Children and Mercy Corps Mongolia.

The charity Hope and Homes for Children, aims to reunite children with their families in Eastern European countries. Where this is not possible, they provide foster families. Mercy Corps Mongolia, support rural communities and herding families through economic, educational and agricultural programmes. The Rally starts on the 19th of July leaving from Hyde Park and heading over 10,000 miles to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Genghis Khan’t are entering two teams with two drivers per car.

Genghis Khan’t 1 will be driven by Alex Stevenson and Kunaal Arora
Genghis Khan’t 2 will be driven by Matthew Wilson and Tommy Read.
 
The rules of the rally state that they must take part in a car worth less than £1000 and with an engine capacity under 1000cc. Providing they make it, the cars will also be donated to Mercy Corps Mongolia. The chosen vehicles are two 1985 Fiat Panda 4x4’s. The route requires them to drive across 21 countries, hopefully reaching Ulaanbaatar five weeks later. They will be driving nearly half way around the world tackling mountain ranges, deserts and horrific or non-existent roads.

Over £2500 pounds has already been raised and Genghis Khan’t are looking to exceed their original target of £2000.
